NetSpeed shows your live internet speed. We built it so that nothing about you ever leaves your phone.
What we collect
Nothing. NetSpeed does not collect, upload, share or sell any personal or device data. The app has no internet permission (android.permission.INTERNET is not requested), so Android does not let it open a network connection at all. There is no server, account, sign-in, analytics, advertising or tracking code.
What the app reads
- Total bytes sent and received by the device, from Android's
TrafficStatscounters, once per second, to show the speed. These are byte totals only: no websites, app names or content. - Connection type (Wi-Fi or mobile data) and signal level, to label the reading.
NetSpeed does not read your browsing, messages, files, contacts, location, clipboard or the contents of any traffic.
What stays on your phone
- Your settings: display mode, scene and theme, colours, fonts, bubble size and position, speed-tier names and thresholds, daily data cap.
- Your usage totals: today, lifetime, and a rolling 30-day history.
These are saved in the app's private storage on your device. Uninstalling NetSpeed deletes them.
Fonts
Some on-screen typefaces are provided by the Google Play services font provider already on your phone. NetSpeed asks that on-device service for a font by name; it sends no personal or usage data, and NetSpeed itself still makes no network connection.
Permissions

Ads, analytics and accounts
NetSpeed shows no ads, contains no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs, needs no account, and has no in-app purchases.
Children
NetSpeed is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
